Portway Picnic, August 7th 1983 Part 1

Barely a month after the publication of the ‘Picnic Site Sex Scandal’ article in the Bristol Evening Post, July 7th 1983, a defiant picnic was organised by members of the Police Action Group and the Bristol branch of the Labour Campaign for Gay Rights. Attendees are asked to ‘bring food and drink’, and are invited to ‘see for yourself an Avon councillor taking car numbers’.
