‘Gay’ church attracts more. Bristol Evening Post, October 20th 1975, p.3

A newspaper extract about the Bristol Metropolitan Community Church

A handful of people – including two children – attended Bristol’s “gay church” when leader Miss Angela Needham (30) held one of the first such services in the city. The service was held in a room at Bristol Council for Voluntary Service’s building in Elmdale Road, Clifton. Miss Needham, of Millards Hill, Welton, near Midsomer Norton, said today that two new people had attended yesterday’s service. She added: “it will take an awfully long time for people to pluck up courage and attend our services. It’s a long, slow process.”
