Angela Needham (c. 1945 – )

A lay minister living at Midsomer Norton, Angela joined the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) in Summer 1975.  On October 20, 1975 she conducted the first gay church meeting in Bristol, held at Council premises in Elmdale Road, Clifton. Shortly after the meetings moved to a former cinema on Cheltenham Road, then occupied by a Christadelphian Church, later the Magic Box pub, now Metropolis.

The MCC meetings in Bristol never attracted more than a dozen or so members and after a year or so they ceased. From 1989 LGBT Christians have been served by an MCC church based in Bath.
