Two red poppies in foreground.Jonathan Rowe, a regular contributor to this website, will give an illustrated talk on Bristol-born gay poet Fabian Strachan Woodley (1888-1957). A military hero of the First World War and awarded the Military Cross, he was also a jounalist, sportsman, school teacher and a Christian.

Some of his poems feature in the very first American anthology of male same-sex love poetry published in the USA in 1924.

This is a Brislington Conservation and History Society event.
